Lunch, a la PEE WEE: Ruben Sandwiches with Sauerkraut and Homemade Crab Soup

Thursday, November 6, 2008

Around 1200 hours, Station Lieutenant Tyrome “Pee Wee” Boderick with the assistance of some eager to learn how to cook helpers made lunch. On the menu were Ruben Sandwiches, Sauerkraut and Homemade Crab Soup. It was a hit and only took approx. 45 minutes (with one interruption for an emergency run) to complete.

Ruben Sandwiches: Fresh sliced rye bread, thin sliced corn beef, swiss cheese slices (melted by oven)

Homemade Crab Soup: Mixed vegetables, fresh lump crab meat, beef bouillon cubes, stewed tomatoes, misc. seasoning, old bay seasoning. Cooked until near boil, then simmer for 35 minutes.

Sauerkraut: Dietz and Watson brand. Heated until served.
